As I’ve been working on my mock up, I felt there were still some pieces missing but couldn’t really pinpoint what they were on my homeless crisis page. Homelessness is complex and while I want to make sure I’m organized and concise on my web-case project, I also do not leave out important issues that will sharpen my case. Our class we had today was extremely helpful and related to my project. The discussions made me aware of some gaps that I would like to fill in my research, such as how lack of affordable housing affects different age groups and veterans. I also noted that eviction rates are higher for people of color which is worth adding to my section involving discrimination. I want to address counterarguments and complications with supportive housing such as finding funding for them as well.
My homepage needs a lot of reworking as the thesis is ambiguous. I need to include questions that relate to the case I’m trying to make. I went back to my proposal and noticed I had a stronger thesis by asking questions such as “how do homeless people find safety?” and “why aren’t homeless people regarded as equal members of society?” that I think will help polish up this page. When I first started on my homepage, I was confused on how to structure it without including all the information I had planned for my other pages. I’m still unsure if my homepage needs to include how my web-case relates to the four key areas of just sustainability, and if so, I think I might struggle with finding a way to incorporate those four key areas without it copying my just sustainabilities page.
There parts in my web-case project that tie perfectly with points and arguments the person I interviewed has brought up which gives me a clear idea of where I want to incorporate the interview. However, once I write my transcript and analysis, I’m a bit unsure on how I will introduce the interview within the content, but I think when I look at other examples, it will help me figure out how to do this seamlessly.
I surely want to further develop my other sustainable projects page. My biggest issue is figuring out how many projects I should include because there is so much interesting and innovative sustainable work to feature.
